We replaced the wooden planter floors with four spacious 5-gallon water tanks that allow longer watering intervals and create more uniform humidity throughout the bed. In tests, our crops grew stronger, taller and faster. What's more, less water is lost through evaporation, since water is mainly drawn from below rather than applied from above.

The height of the pots has other advantages: fewer weeds, less maintenance and fewer bugs nibbling away at your precious plants. The sturdy aluminum feet won't bend or sag, the wooden sides are naturally rot-resistant and our Vermont food-grade colored polywhey protector is not only safe enough for your organic garden, but also protects the wood from the influence of the elements.
