Restoration: In October 2022, I purchased this cabinet from a nice gentleman in Ewing New Jersey. The cabinet had belonged to his mother and was passed down to him a few years ago. As we chatted I told him my plans for this piece and he recounted the time he had restored it as a teenager. He was in his 60s or early 70s, so this cabinet had stayed in the family for a very long time. His family took very good care of the cabinet.
Condition: The item is in excellent condition, includes hardware transferred from another vintage piece and a new key. The lock,.. kind of spins. So don’t lock your family jewels in the drawer. The frame is strong and tight. I replaced the bottom of the drawer, but that was the only major repair. The drawer has dovetail joints and slides smoothly. The door opens and closes with no issues.
My furniture is vintage/antique and may contain small imperfections indicative of its age. My goal is to ensure each piece is repaired and ready to last another hundred years.
